Secret Santa Gifties

I belong to a wonderful group of crafters!  Our leader is Brenda Rose and she calls us her Rose Blossoms. Cute, right? Anywho-- every year she lets us sign up for a Secret Santa gift exchange and she randomly assigns us someone to create gifts for. It is so much fun trying to create something that our recipient would love. :) This year I was creating for Sara (her blog is here). Her favorite paper is Laughing Lola (a favorite of mine, too!). Here is what I created for her...  (thank you, Sara, for taking the picture!)

I ccreated magnets, a necklace, a set of notecards and a  treat tube filled with Hershey's kisses, all tucked into a card box decorated with the Laughing Lola paper, some sparkles and her name cut with Cricut Artbooking. I am so happy that she loves it! :) I had so much fun creating for her.

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

Penguin Cheer

Isn't this the cutest little penguin? :) My husband has always loved penguins and when he saw this card, he claimed it as his own!

This card was created with the Mojo Monday sketch as inspiration. Here is my card:

Fresh From Heaven

My cousin is having a baby this month! We are all excited for her-- she's having a girl. Well, I am all about the girly colors and patterns! Here's a little card I put together for her.

I used A Child's Year Cricut cartridge for the card shape and the Art Philosophy cartridge for the fancy cut in the middle that the sentiment is on. Cardstock, inks and stamps are from Close to My Heart, and the patterned paper is from Doodlebug Designs. I love the sentiment stamp-- it is from the Babycakes WOTG kit.

Seeing these cheerful colors makes my heart happy on this dreary, wet day! :)

Getting my Christmas on!

Haven't had time to do any paper-crafting this weekend (but it's only 7 pm here, so the night is young, right?), what with Black Friday (and Saturday), a concert down in Atlanta with my honey (The Story Tour-- highly recommend, if it comes to a city near you) and a special new craft project (scarves for the girls in the family). So, here's a little card I created about a month ago for my sweet, crafty friend, Kim Hill. I was dying to use the Washi Wonders set to make a little Christmas tree. I have seen several out there using washi tape, but I really don't have a lot of that (need to fix that quick, don't I?), so I thought the stamp set would be perfect. Plus, with stamps, you can use almost any color you want!

I am really getting into the holiday spirit!  It was a year ago on Friday that I had surgery that had me off my feet for a while, and I felt like I never really got to celebrate the season properly! Well, I am determined to make up for it this year. :)

This card kind of makes me think of one of my favorite Christmas songs, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." (BTW, the BEST version is the version sung by Judy Garland in "Meet Me in St. Louis." Just sayin'. What do you think? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdbJ3KUWWLc ).

Ok, enough babble. Here's the card.

Wishing you lots of joy this holiday season!
